Welcome to Creating Wellness Art & Alternative Therapies. My name is Nadine and I am an Art Psychotherapist RT-Q with CRPO. In additionI to my private practice I am a Clinical Team Member at the Southdown, an integrative, holistic, residential centre offering preventative and restorative care. Here I have had the pleasure of being part of this dynamic team since 2018. I lead the fitness, aqua-fit and aqua therapy programs, personal training, breathing, mindfulness, compassion, movement therapy, sound journeys and art therapy and look forward to bringing my array of experience to you.

I am a graduate of OCAD-U; the Ontario College of Art and Design University and received my post-graduate degree with CiiAT; the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy with an Art Psychotherapy Diploma program (APD). I am a member in good standing with CATA; the Canadian Art Therapy Association and AATA; the American Art Therapy Association and I follow their code of ethics and standards of professional practice.

I believe art therapy provides space to explore the body-mind-heart-spirit connection. Art promotes self-expression, self-awareness and personal insight—enhancing self-regulation, coping skills and resilience. I work from a blended integrative and holistic approach including: mindfulness, humanistic, strengths-based, positive, emotional-focused, compassion-lead and TIC—trauma informed care foundation. Integrating an array of concepts through an art-based method. My focus is to collaborate with clients to set goals and discover their potential by helping them access their inner-creator—inspiring healthy movement towards growth, transformation, and healing. Art is a way to make your mark and find your voice.

Art stimulates one's imagination and innovation, non-verbally. Art is its own language—a form of communication, preceding developed language. Therefore, art therapy is highly beneficial for clients who are nervous or new to therapy, who struggle to articulate their experiences or who have experienced trauma. Art is an opening to externalize and process emotions and experiences—increasing insight, self-discovery and self-empowerment. Moving clients from surviving to thriving to becoming.
